Prof Lenny Tan of the National University of Singapore, former President of the International Society of Radiology recently visited us and delivered a lecture on Acute Aortic Syndromes. Prof Tan is a regarded by many as the father of Interventional Radiology in Asia and was the pioneer of many interventional techniques, including coronary angiography in Singapore. He is the recipient of the prestigious Beclere medal of the French Radiologic Society, among many other accolades. On a personal level, Prof Tan is a charming and engaging personality with a great sense of humour, with whom I have shared many enjoyable moments in Singapore, Bangalore and Chicago.
